How To Create The Close-knit Family

By Patricia West

There is no doubt, in the past families used to focus more on the traditions and this is what helped them stay close. It does not mean that parents are now at fault. There are simply more challenges that they have to face, which makes it tricky. There is also stress involved, which is why the close-knit family is rare today.

However, it is something to work towards because this will avoid additional stress and issues. When one works through these challenges, parents will be rewarded by a closer connection and a deeper relationship. This is the basic foundation which one sets early on. This is very important because when you have this foundation, you will stay connected though the child's adult years as well.

It can include video games, the internet and other forms of technology. Kids are curious from a young age, and manufactures draw children to the digital screen, which can be addictive. Parents may find it challenging to set certain rules and regulations. However, the balance between love and discipline results in self respect. Children will learn to have a greater set of morals.

There are statistics to say that families who don't spend time with one another will not be able to deal with many issues that crop up. Something as simple as eating a meal together has become neglected in this day and age. Children are not even read a bed time stories. Parents are preparing for work, and they have to make sure that their lives are on track.

Over the years, it has become the norm for families to drift apart because of the challenges that they are up against. Parents are tired when they get back from work. They will have something to eat in front of the television. Kids may be busy playing before going to bed, but parents may not be involved in the interaction which is important for the family to connect.

They say the kitchen is the heart of the home. The way the home is designed also makes a big difference. If this is designed in such a way which is not appropriate for kids, there will be a bad energy in the home. One wants something that is easy to live in and makes you feel relaxed. One wants to feel that this is your own personal space, and that you are not living in a hotel.

One should get involved with them as they draw something before they go to bed. Dad should take the opportunity to kick a ball around with his son instead of watching him do it. This will make all of the difference when he looks back in years to come. One may need to go as far as having a schedule where you are able to plan your routine around your lifestyle.

If you are organized like this, you will find that there is less stress and tension in the home. Stress will lead to parents arguing and this is what kids pick up on. It can drag on over time and sometimes families will developing a dysfunctional style of living their life. This kind of lifestyle will lead to more trauma. These memories are long lasting as well.
