Sites of archaeological finds, history and cultural items and photographs from the Dena'ina are held within the museum and you can't forget about a token of your adventure here at the gift shop.
At the Historical Society Museum you can view the many forms of wildlife found here past and present. There is also a log village that is historical which includes the last of the schools of the territory which still houses the lanterns of gas they used for light during their lessons. You can see exactly how the first homesteaders to this area lived by way of the artifacts and the photos on display here.
Do not miss the opportunity to see the real Iditarod Trail and find all there is to know about the Alaskan Railroad too at the KMTA National Heritage area.
