How To Pay Homage To A Music Legend

By Stephen Foster

People like to be entertained and that is why entertainment is big business. It comes in many forms from costume parties, carnivals, concerts, sports, and car races. One of the oldest and endearing forms of entertainment is songs. Whether as individuals or a group, the sweet sound of a human voice accompanied by a musical ensemble rejuvenates the spirit. Recalling one great balladeers who graced the music scene is a special event called bay area Elvis tribute.

Individuals who closely follow their idols in the movie and music industry are called fanatics, or in short fans. The fans collect photo albums, song collections, and other memorabilia of someone who they refer to as an idol. One such personality captivated the whole world with his talent and looks. Although he is already deceased, he still has a very large following.

Many a big company or association pay homage to people who have made their mark in the industry. This is so true in any sector, be it in business, politics, entertainment, and others. It is given in honor of the accomplishments of recipients during their heyday. They sponsor shows that can last for a week and that is eagerly participated by adoring fans.

These commemorative events need careful planning, especially as to what type of activities will be included for the duration of a celebration. Most often it is always a variety show that is time bound and with different acts coming one after the other. There are also some side activities like the selling of memorabilia or other things that are closely associated with the person.

The sponsor or the organizing committee to be exact will be hard pressed to look for talents whom they will hire for the event. Depending on the activities that will be lined up, individuals and groups most likely are also fans themselves and would gladly share their talents in honor of the greatest rock and roll star the entertainment industry has ever produced.

The introduction often is a short history of this man himself, shown in stills and movie clips along with commentary from a prerecorded scoring or from a live emcee. This may include a full length motion picture of his concerts made in the past. It sometimes is replayed over and over again for the duration of an event and will serve to attract more participants.

Another fun happening is when look alike entertain people by impersonating their idols. These people train day by day to master the voice, movement, and gesture of their superstars. It certainly can become a contest if there are plenty of impersonators. Winners are awarded either cash, concert tickets, goods, memorabilia of the superstar or even all of it due to their hard work and dedication to copy their beloved idols.

These events are closely monitored by the event organizers as this sometimes become rowdy when the participant is carried over by nostalgia. As with any large celebrations, the safety and protection of participants must always be at the forefront. Emergency medical services have to be available at all times as are crowd control units. Plate lunches and dinner have to be on schedule.

It is always good to go back in time to the good old days and no more can this enthralling than participating in a tribute festival that will feature several artists who will perform number made popular by the music icon. There is nothing like going back to the past and reliving the memory of a person that greatly shaped the music industry.
