Engine Sludge Symptoms To Look Out For

By Kerri Stout

One of the most common problems that car owners would have with their automobiles would be a buildup of sludge inside their motors. Now if one would want to know if he has this kind of issue, then he should take note of certain signs. Now these six are the engine sludge symptoms that one would have to take note of.

Now one of the most common symptoms of this kind of problem would be when the car does not start. Now starting up a car should be quite easy as all it takes would be to turn up the ignition. If it does not want to do that, then one may have to check if he would have an oil sludge problem.

Now if the car does not want to start, it is possible that the thickened oil has covered the spark plugs. Now when this would happen, then the spark plugs simply will not spark which would result in the automobile not being able to start up. When this happens, one would have to wipe the substance from the spark plugs in order to fix it.

If one notices that his oil level is getting used up faster than usual, then he may actually attribute this to a clog. Now one would probably be wondering a clog can lead to oil being used up too quickly. Well since there is a clog, then the oil will not be able to travel properly in the motor which means that only a small amount of oil is being used.

Now another symptom that one can look out for would be if there is an issue with the oxygen sensor. Now the thing about the oxygen sensor is that it will not work properly if there is a clog because it will not be able to trace the correct amount of fuel. Now in this case, the sensor will say that there is not enough fuel in the car.

Now it is also very important to check if the oil pressure indicator would light up. One must immediately check for any clogs because this would most likely be the problem. The oil was most likely not able to be distributed evenly in all parts of the motor which is why the indicator reacted.

Now if the engine gets too hot, then one would definitely have to check if there is some sludge there. Now the thing about sludge is that when it would clog a motor, it will not allow the motor to be able to distribute any of the oil like it should. Since it will be moving without any oil inside, it will just burn up and eventually overheat from the pressure.

So basically, these are some of the most common symptoms that one will be experiencing if he is having a sludge clog in his motor. Now if he notices that there really is a clog, then all he would have to do would be to clean the motor a little bit. In order to do this, all he needs to do is to get a dry cloth and wipe the thickened oil away.
