San Francisco is legendary for as a location for many notable sites, lots of which are recognizable around the world because of the characteristic design and architecture of the historical buildings in San Francisco. Alongside being home to one of, if not the most iconic bridge in the U.S., the town is equally as much defined by the historically significant buildings in San Francisco that have lasted through quakes and much of the other kinds of shake-ups to character of the city.
The Golden Gate Bridge
This bridge is by a large margin the most well liked historic attraction in San Francisco. Not only is it a lovely site, but it has historic importance as well. By taking a walk across this bridge, you can see a great deal of the city of San Fran and the beautiful bay. Whether you are driving or walking driving or walking, visitors will be astounded by the attractive structure and overall splendor of the architecture. The project to build this bridge began in 1933, but wasn't finished till 1937.
Filbert Steps
If you feel like a good workout, then you need to definitely visit the Filbert Steps. There are over 600 step stairs, which go up the side of Sansome Street. It's not the flight of stairs that are attractive, because they appear to be crumbled and repulsive in some parts. The real beauty is in the incredible panaoramic views, which one can see on the way up. The gardens and beguiling houses, which you see on the way up, are grand. When you reach the end of the steps, one can enjoy Coit Tower.
San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park
In the Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood, visitors will find this national park. The park includes a visitor center, a fleet of important vessels,a maritime museum, a library and a research facility. The building was first opened in 1951 to the San Francisco population. Visitors can see outstanding ships from the 19th century in all of their glory. Tour these extraordinary ships and learn all about their sea-faring history.
Fort Point
Journey to another time and place when you visit Fort Point. Once used as a hidden location for the military, now it's been the location of many films, including "Vertigo" by Alfred Hitchcock. This area is also integrated in the famous video game, "Grand Theft Auto". This structure was built in 1776 and today is crumbling a little a bit. Still many individuals love to go here and see the magnificent vantage points from this area.
Alcatraz
Roughly 1.5 miles off the edge of San Francisco, San Fran sightseers will find the island that holds the jail Alcatraz. Until 1969 this provided a home to one of the worst incarceration institutions in the U.S. Perhaps its most famed captive was Al Capone, but Capone was not the most violent by a long way. Today, Alcatraz is understood as one of the most haunted areas in American and so pulls a large amount of visitors. Tours are given daily of this consequential building, with the increased bonus of a beautiful ferry ride across the bay.
Regardless of what you sites you see in San Francisco vacationers will leave them enchanted. This beautiful city has something for each visitor, including great places to eat and historic sites. The city on the Bay has for a while been home to some stunning historic sites. Making time to visit them all will leave visitors will enough memories to last a lifetime... or at least until the next visit.
