You Will Enjoy Fun With Digital Stamps

by Heidi Arrowood

People have participated in many hobbies including stamp collecting. It is a way to enjoy the color and variety of those produced in other countries and depicting presidents and other notable figures. It is currently popular to have fun with digital stamps.

There are ordinary ways to apply them to cards. One is to print them onto paper, another is to cut them out and glue them on. Now they can be used for crafting and that is growing popular too.

Sometimes they are called digi stamps and there are many ways to use them. What you should know about them is they are black and white images. They can be colored either before or after printing them.

The digital image files are similar to clip art, but have several differences. Mainly, they have no acrylic or wooden base as rubber stamps do. After printing, they can be used just like the rubber version, however.

Use these files to make pages for a scrapbook. You can also emboss them for an especially attractive look. Your family will appreciate personalized greeting and thank you cards. The scrapbooks you make can be either digital or hard bound.

Using these has advantages and disadvantages. The positive aspects far outweigh the negative ones. They are delivered to your computer online so there is no need to wait for delivery. There is no postage for sending them by snail mail. They are relatively inexpensive.

The crafting ideas are limited only by the imagination. Make personalized coffee mugs by applying them to glass. Make pictures on fabric, make scrapbook covers and personalized shopping bags. Store and keep them on your home computer. They will be like new until you delete them.

Keep them for your own future use while also sharing them with others. All you need is a computer, a printer and publishing software, such as the one most people have on their computer. There are a few drawbacks. Sometimes the printer ink will bleed, blurring the image. You may use lots of paper and ink cartridges since it takes more than one try to perfect a craft project.

Print out a batch of these and let a group of children get creative. It will be surprising what inventive use they can put them to. Teachers and Girl Scout leaders can use them for a special holiday project. The children will love making their own greeting cards, thank you notes and scrapbooks for gifts. Everyone in the family or group will have fun with digital stamps.
