A Guide On Choosing Car Door Guards

By Lila Bryant

The world markets are full of unregulated products in terms of quality standards and support. However, one can opt for a rather customized product by engaging with the manufacturers and the dealers. The accessories could be customized to fit your specifications, or otherwise enhanced. Most car guard products are particularly bought for either protection or for enhancing the aesthetic appeal of our vehicles. Whatever the reason, be sure to opt for the best car door guards.

The usefulness of these security gadgets is unmentionable; they come very handy especially in car parks. The devices protect our doors from having dents and paints from peeling off as a result of accidents and minor scratches from surfaces. The surfaces mainly entail jagged walls in parking garages and other cars. It is therefore important to fix some protection guards for our own convenience and for the stunning look of our drives.

Choosing a guard can be a challenging task since there are numerous products in the market for this purpose. One needs to consider several factors when choosing the item, including how long you wish to have the protector stay on your car and how it will impact on the appearance of the vehicle and the kind of damage you wish to protect your car from.

There are various ways of attaching the guards to cars. This forms the basis of the available types, including stick on car, magnetic and the hanging car protectors. These methods can be applied basing on the duration of time you want the guard to stay or just the simple appeal to the methodology used.

However, the most preferred and prevalent method is the one referred to as stick on car door edge protection. The technique is usually employed to protect the surface from paint chips, particularly on the edges. The approach is exceptionally easy and simple to install and is more durable because of the application of adhesives. They prove rather effective and helpful, just in case you want to avoid causing damage to other vehicles accidentally by stripping away paint on their surfaces arising from close contact with your door edge. However, the method is not quite effective on its own as it only protects the edges, as opposed to others.

Magnetic protection is another sort of technology employed. It does not rely on the adhesives and is fairly temporary form of protection. The main component used is the magnetic materials especially from the earth. The substances are often coated with silicon rubber to cut contact with the vehicle paint. Cleaning is easy with this method, hence most preferred method on the short run. However, the method does not apply to cars with non-magnetic surfaces.

Suction cups are also used to some extent. However, the method is unreliable due to the tendency of the cups to fall off sooner the expected. All in all, they are capable of deflecting and even absorb shock. Their use is rampant in windows.

Simply put, the choice of protection entirely depends on the purpose and the ultimate effect to be achieved. One method is particularly effective on protecting the edges while the others are all purpose. While you can use one technique, integrating more than one may go a long way.
