Jewish Interfaith Marriage Is Something Great

By Betty Schmidt

The wedding day is an auspicious occasion. It is just as important as or even more important than the day of birth. As a matter of fact, it marks the start of a new life; a life of marital bliss. The cycle of life is not complete unless one marries. There is a time for everything; a time to be born, a time to graduate, and definitely a time to marry. Getting married is the best thing to do if one has come of age. There is nothing as good as a Jewish interfaith marriage.

An interfaith marriage is more than just the marriage of two people. It also involves two different cultures and two different faiths marrying or in simple language, coming together. That is something beautiful to behold because it represents the crossing of religious lines. When people are ready to cross the lines of religion that often times divide, the world becomes a greater place.

At the end of the day, the factor of paramount importance is love. One should not marry someone because he comes from a particular family, he speaks a certain language, or is a member of a certain faith. What matters most is love. The foundation of a strong union is real and genuine love. Actually, love should be unconditional.

Interfaith unions are very common in different countries. It is common to find a Jew marrying a Christian. One can also find a Christian marrying a Muslim. In some cases there is conversion while in others two people live together without any party converting the other. People can happily exist together and raise a family without the need for conversion.

Individuals are not only crossing the religious divide. They are also crossing the racial divide. As a matter of fact, in the United States of America and in other countries, individuals are marrying people of other races. One can easily find a white man marrying a black woman. On the other hand, it is common for black men to marry Hispanic women.

It has become very easy for people of different races and religions to date. That is because of the power of World Wide Web. A Christian based in US does not have to travel to Israel so that to date a Jew. That is because everything can happen virtually. The internet has changed the way people do many things.

To be able to date virtually, one has to register for an account in an online dating website. There are many service providers to choose from. One does not have to choose the first service that he comes across. There is the need to compare and contrast the different services and finally make a choice. Online research will come in handy.

Marrying is part of human culture. There is no culture on earth that does not have the institution of marriage. Actually, this institution is the foundation of society. In ancient times, people used to marry. In modern times, individuals are still marrying. Religious figures and scholars usually encourage people to marry. That is because marrying makes it easy to succeed and increases happiness.
