The first design was comprised of rubber mask that was attached to some breathing bag.
The content of the bag are 60 percent oxygen which is supplied from a cooper tank and carbon (IV) Oxide which is scrubbed by a rope yarn dipped in a caustic solution. However, this system is undergoing further development. Today, the model being used is quite improved and is capable of travelling thousands of feet deep down the ocean. Also, it holds large amounts of oxygen.
